USE OF CONTRACEPTIVE RELATED THROMBOSIS: INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Abstract

Objective: Analyze in the scientific literature a relation of the occurrence of thrombosis associated with the use of contraceptives. Materials and Methods: It is a systematic review, in search of articles from the databases in the research portal Virtual Health Library (VHL), from the reading of articles researched in the period from August 2015 to November 2016. The following descriptors were used: thrombosis, contraceptive, thrombosis and contraceptive using the Bolivian operator "and". After the complete reading, five publications were selected for data analysis. Results: It was found that women who use oral contraceptives are at high risk for thrombosis, due to the lack of clarification by the professional to the user about the side effects of the method. In relation to the profile, it can be seen that the most affected age group is women aged 20.8 to 57.4 years. Conclusion: Finally, it is necessary to implement health education activities for women who use contraception on the risk of thrombosis, as well as the frequent updating by health professionals to investigate predisposing risk factors in women In fertile age in the proper choice of contraceptive method according to the pre-existing risk factors in them and consequently reduction of thrombosis.
