Atuação fisioterapêutica no tratamento do Lúpus Eritematoso Sistêmico: revisão de literatura
Abstract
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory disease, multisystem, of un-known etiology and autoimmune character, which causes tissue damage, especially in women aged between 15 and 40 years. The treatment of SLE is nonspecific, due to the lack of a standard protocol for all patients. Therefore, to promote quality of life, several measures can be adopted, which include: use of medication, nutritional care, regular exercise and use of sunscreen. In this context, physiotherapy is an important ally for SLE patients, as it improves respiratory function and comfort, being an adjunct to pharmacological treatment. Given the above, the general objective was to analyze, through a literature review, the benefits of physi-cal therapy in the treatment of SLE. And specific objectives: To analyze respiratory physio-therapy in SLE patients, describe physiotherapy for pain relief and highlight the role of the physiotherapist in improving the quality of life of SLE patients. The research is based on a literature review carried out in the indexed databases of the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Academic Google, Scielo and PubMed. With a time frame between 2010 and 2020. The de-scriptors used in the searches were: SLE, rheumatic disease, Physiotherapeutic trea-tment. From the analysis of the 11 scientific articles used to compose this review, it could be noted that the physiotherapeutic approach consists of a golden intervention for the treatment of SLE, promoting improvements in the quality of life of patients, with relief from pain, gain of mobility, improvement in functional capacity to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), as well as improvement in the psychosocial context of individuals affected with the pathology. Thus, it can be concluded that, through physical therapy interventions, such as exercises and specific maneuvers, it is possible to achieve a significant improvement in cardiorespiratory and muscle functions, and thus increase patients' survival, helping their well-being.
