Pasture degradation in Brazil compromises agricultural productivity and ecosystem services, affecting major biomes such as the Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, and Atlantic Forest. This study aimed to comparatively analyze the effectiveness of sustainable strategies for the recovery of degraded pastures in these biomes. A literature review was conducted based on studies published between 2014 and 2024 in indexed databases, focusing on interventions with measurable results related to soil recovery, productivity, and ecological indicators. The findings showed that integrated systems, especially crop-livestock-forest integration and agroforestry systems, presented the most comprehensive results, promoting simultaneous improvements in soil quality, biomass production, and environmental sustainability. However, these strategies require greater initial investment and technical support. Natural and ecological approaches, such as secondary regeneration and grazing exclusion, showed positive effects on soil restoration and biodiversity, although with slower responses. The effectiveness of the recovery strategies varied according to the edaphoclimatic and socioeconomic conditions of each biome. Overall, the results indicate that the recovery of degraded pastures in Brazil depends on regionally adapted strategies and on public policies capable of supporting their implementation on a broader scale.
